Woman's body found in car near Dulles identified

The body of a woman found in a vehicle near Dulles has been identified by police.

Police were called to 2320 Dulles Station Boulevard on Nov. 17 shortly after 9 a.m. to investigate suspicious circumstances.

The property manager of Camden Dulles Station reported finding what appeared to be a trail of blood leading from the parking lot to a dumpster.

An investigation led detectives to determine that a resident of the apartment complex, Ericka Yancey, was missing.

An alert patrol officer located a vehicle around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19 in the 13000 block of Sunrise Valley Drive. It was determined that the vehicle belonged to Yancey.

The officer also located the body of a deceased adult female inside. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau and Crime Scene responded to the scene.

An autopsy has confirmed the deceased woman is Yancey. She died from stab wounds to her upper body. Her death is now being investigated as a homicide.
