Fairfax County Police have arrested a Reston man they say tried to pay for sex with an 11-year-old girl on Craigslist.

Police shoot man at Tysons Galleria

Fairfax County police officers were involved in a shooting Nov. 15 at the Tysons Galleria, located in the 2000 block of International Drive in McLean.

Around 12:40 p.m. police were called for a disorderly man who reportedly had a gun on the mall property. Responding officers located the man outside on the upper-level parking deck and confronted him. The man failed to comply with the officers’ commands and allegedly made a movement toward a gun in his waistband.

An officer discharged one round and the suspect was shot in the lower body. He was transported by ground to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Crime Scene Section, Criminal Investigations Bureau and Internal Affairs responded to the scene. This investigation is in its early stages and is ongoing. More details will be provided as they become available.
