It's interesting how in the past few weeks articles have tried to paint Mr. Fimian's membership with Legatus: a Catholic Christian group whose vision statement is to study, live and spread the faith in our business, professional and personal lives, as somehow very conservative or extreme. I didn't know living a life ethically and in harmony with Christian teaching was either liberal or conservative or somehow extreme. Likewise, how the writers tried to imply that Mr. Fimian has said that social issues do not matter. I think he has stated his position on most of those issues quite clearly.
Mr. Fimian is focused, and I think correctly so, on the economy and taxes. Mr. Fimian has discussed how government should promote all forms of energy supplies and also has noted how he, as businessman who has never held public office, would focus on making sure government operates more efficiently and effectively rather than always turn to the taxpayer for another buck. Something, in my mind that his opponent, who has raised our taxes over 100 percent in the past five years, fails to comprehend.
