Yard signs stolen in McLean

Apparently there are people in our community who do not believe in one of the most precious freedoms citizens of the United State of America enjoy: freedom of political expression, a right that millions of people around the world do not enjoy. I gave my neighbors an Obama yard sign, this week it was stolen. Not only did the thief impinge upon my neighbors' 1st Amendment right to free speech, he stole my neighbors' property. And, because I purchased the yard sign I am out of pocket the amount it cost me.

Nevertheless, I will purchase a new sign to replace the one stolen. This is how passionately I feel about our right to freedom of political expression. Luckily, every purchase of a yard sign benefits the Obama campaign - the more yard signs are stolen and then replaced by supporters, the more funds go to the Obama campaign.

I am extremely disappointed that this happened in my community. Some of neighbors have McCain yard signs. I would never dream of being so unpatriotic as to go onto their property and steal these yard signs. I may disagree with them but I will honor their right to express their political views freely and openly. Because that is the American way.
